The Theologische Fakultät Paderborn is the oldest university in Westphalia, founded on September 10, 1614, by Prince-Bishop Dietrich IV von Fürstenberg as a Jesuit university with faculties of philosophy and theology. It was confirmed by Pope Paul V and Emperor Matthias, granting it all academic rights. The faculty offers degrees such as Magister Theologiae, doctorate, and licentiate in Catholic Theology. With 15 professorial chairs and intensive student guidance, it provides an outstanding learning environment, particularly for foreign students. Located in the historic center of Paderborn, the faculty continues to uphold its rich tradition while engaging with contemporary theological discourse.
