Kiel University of Applied Sciences, established on August 1, 1969, resulted from the merger of several state-run engineering schools and technical colleges, boasting a history spanning over a century. Located directly on the waterfront of the Kiel Firth, it is the largest institution of its kind in Schleswig-Holstein, with over 7,500 students. The university offers approximately 40 Bachelor's and Master's degrees, supplementary degrees, extra-occupational, and continuing education courses across faculties such as Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Science & Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Media, and Social Work & Health. The university maintains a strong reputation in Schleswig-Holstein, collaborating with domestic industries, regional associations, and employers. Graduates often secure well-paid positions swiftly, primarily within regional companies. This is supported by a long-term study conducted by the university and the regional Institute for Employment Research.
